Biography

Albert Clyde Austin was born on 16 February 1896 in Thompson Falls, Sanders, Montana, United States. He was the son of Clyde Elisha Austin (1867–1937) and Dora Madelon Tooley (1879–1918).

The family lived in Thompson Township, Missoula, Montana.[1][2]

Albert Clyde Austin registered for the draft for World War I. [3]

Corporal Albert C Austin served in the U.S. Military during World War I. He was inducted at Thompson Falls, Montana, on 24 July 1918, assigned to 61 Company, 163rd Depot Brigade at Camp Dodge, Iowa, until 28 August 1918, and then transferred to 14 Battalion, 163rd Depot Brigade to 7 September 1918. He was promoted to Corporal on 14 September 1918 and assigned to the U. S. Veterinary Hospital No. 18, at Camp Report (Sougy (Nievre), France, A.P.O. 908) until repatriated with his unit at the end of the war. [4][5]

In 1920, Albert (24) was living in the household of Clyde E Austin (52) in Thompson Falls, Sanders with his father, Clyde E (52); and his siblings, Harmon O (22), Warren E (19), George H (17), Emma M (15), Eva V (13), and Ray E (6). [6]

Albert C Austin (28) married Jennie M Branscomb (28) on 26 June 1925 in Missoula, Missoula, Montana.[7] They were the parents of:

  • Helen Louise Austin (1925-1987) [8]
  • Richard Clyde Austin (1928-1999)[9]

Jennie Mildred Branscombe Austin died on 4 November 1936, in Missoula, Missoula, Montana, United States, at the age of 40,

Albert C Austin married Ruth A Trafford on 7 August 1937 in Butte, Silver Bow, Montana.[11] The family lived in Missoula, Montana.[12]

In 1950, Albert (54)'s occupation was 'timber manager'. He was living in Libby, Lincoln with his wife, Ruth (50). [15]

Albert C Austin married Evelyn M Eilers Jesseman (48) on 1 October 1960 in Shasta, California.[16][17]

Albert Clyde Austin died on March 22, 1992 in Fort Bragg, Mendocino, California, United States, aged 96.[18] [19] [20] He was cremated with his ashes acattered.[21]
