William was born about 1690. He was likely born in Scotland or Ireland. He was an early resident in Londonderry township, Chester PA.[1] He witnessed a will for James Erwin in 1738[2] He passed away in 1753, as his will was probated in that year.[3] His will mentions sons William, John, and Lancelot. It also mentions a son-in-law John Thoptson (Thompson?) who died before the will was probated, and a brother James Armstrong. William was an executor for John Tompson's will in 1749[4] and James Gilliland was a witness.
