James Addison was born in about 1796 in Northumberland, England.[1][2]
He married Jane (1800-1879).[1][2]
James died on October 28, 1846 in Canada West and was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada.[1][2] His gravestone is displayed as part of a stone cairn that was built in the cemetery in 1968.[1][2]
Birth: A birth record was not found on FamilySearch.
Marriage: A marriage record was not found on FamilySearch. The gravestone of his wife, Jane, is built into the same stone cairn as his and is from the same stone material.
Children: It is probable that James had a son, also named James. There is also a stone in the same cairn that is inscribed: To the memory of six infant children of James and Sarah Addison whom died between the years of 1848 and 1853. Although it has been linked to this James Addison (senior) on Find A Grave, unless the term "infant" was used loosely, considering that James died in 1846 (plus he was married to Jane and he died before her), it is likely that he had a son named James, who married a Sarah, and that these infant children were theirs. The same stone material was used for this stone as well. With a little searching, it looks like it may be for the children of James Addison (1822-1902) (see entry on Find A Grave) and his wife, Sarah (Gowland) Addison (1829-1890), buried in Saint Philips Churchyard Cemetery in Etobicoke. They were married in 1847 and were having children during this time frame.
Death: A death record was not found on FamilySearch.
