Actually Great Grannie's rose given the name comes from the maternal aunts, her granddaughters.
The rose has been grown from cuttings and exists in the gardens of several descendants.
As a plant it has no obvious redeeming features but as a family heirloom, it is priceless, continuing the memory of Ellen ANDREWS nee TURNBULL down the generations.
Sorry that the rose in the photo, like great grannie, is past the first flush of youth!
If anyone knows what it's real name is, we would be interested to hear.
