Looking for information on Harriet Myrtle McEwan (1906 - 1981) in NZ

Question

Harriet Myrtle McEwan married Harold Albert Nind in 1925 in New Zealand. Papers Past shows that they divorced in 1940. A probate record for her son Lyall Russell Nind shows that Myrtle married Donald McEwan, yet I cannot find the marriage record, nor can I find their divorce. However, Archways shows that a divorce between Donald and Harriet occurred between 1968 and 1969. It is my understanding that Myrtle had been married 4 times, yet I can't find any other names that are associated with her. I believe that Penglase must be her maiden name as she would have been 19 years of age at the time that she married Harold. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

If she divorced in 1940, the later marriage record would not yet be available online through NZBDM. I believe through some NZ genealogy groups I follow on FB, that there are CDs with later marriages. Not all divorces are mentioned in Archway.

Yes, you are correct on her maiden name.

She is showing with Donald McEwan in the 1946 electoral roll.

Unless someone on a Facebook group share the record from the NZSG CD you can only get it at Libraries.  Up to the 1950's I believe, gives you spouse and folio number.

From what I can see in electoral rolls, her and Donald are together at the same location, 1946, 1949, 1954 then they are in the same roll in 1957 but she is not listing herself as married but as Farmer in Poolburn.  Donald McEwan and a lot of others, males and married women are all at Moa Flat as labourers and racemen.....family farm or something by the looks.  From 1963 on he is not showing in the same roll as her.  She seemed to always be in Otago but strangely, was cremated in Southland.  That is  the only Harriet Myrtle McEwan I can find in rolls.

Probably not, there are so many Harriet Myrtle born about that time, with various last names, some in Oz some NZ. Must have been the names of the decade!
