Relationship changes to Mapes and Wines profiles (children of PGM settlers)

In his Great Migration article on Barnabas Wines, Anderson cites without comment NEHGR 159:127-30, an article by Daniel Stramara titled “Mary (Mapes) Wines, Daughter of Thomas Mapes of Southold, Long Island, New York.” Stramara acknowledges his conclusions contradict the Mapes Family Association’s database, their book (Mapes Family in America) and other works on the family.

I am not the profile manager so would appreciate PGM project support. I would like to revise the relationships of the following profiles to match what’s in Stramara and Anderson.

* disconnect Mary Mapes-168 from current husband Barnabas Wines-23 and his children.
*create Mary Unknown as wife of Wines-23 and mother of his children (or change the LNAB of his unsourced "wife" Mary Benjamin-499)
* attach Mary Mapes-168 as wife of Samuel Wines-69 (he is currently unsourced and married to someone else)

This is what I’ve extracted from the (pretty dense) Stramara article. Would someone kindly double check this is accurate?

Thomas Mapes (1626- ) m. 1648? Sarah Purrier (1630- )

  1. Mary Mapes (1649?- ) m. by 1669? Samuel Wines
    1. Mary (1670? - ) m. 7 Oct 1686 Isaac Willman Jr.
    2. Susanna (1672?- )
    3. Unknown son
  2. Thomas Mapes Jr. (1651-16 Feb 1711 )

Barnabas Wines Sr m. Anna Eddy

  1. Barnabas Wines Jr. (1636-1711) m. Mary Unknown (1638-13 Jun 1727)
  2. Samuel Wines (1645-27 Jan 1728/9) m. Mary Mapes
  3. others...

What’s known (per Stramara's article):

*Sarah Purrier was 5 in 1635 when she immigrated on the Hopewell.
* Mary Wines “wid” aged 89 dies 13 Jun 1727 (i.e. b.a. 1638).  Samuel Wines was still living, so this Mary was the widow of Barnabas Jr. Sarah Purrier is too young be her mother.
*The granddaughter of Thomas Purrier was married and named “Mary Winde” in his 1675 will.
*Samuel and Mary Wines had at least three children based on 1686 list of Southold residents (2 males and 3 females).
*Thomas Mapes Jr. was said to be 60 when he died 16 Feb 1711 (basis for DOB of his sister, date of parents' marriage).

Heather, I keep trying to look at this but get sidetracked. Or once I fell asleep reading the Stramara article
LOL you get an A for effort, Anne

None of the profile managers weighed in so I will move forward on the changes probably this weekend.

This looks good to me. I've prepped Mary Benjamin to be renamed unknown and asked the manager, but doubt very much she will respond. I think I'll start the process of having her removed as an unresponsive manager.
