Shared Photo: Norval Keay as a Young Boy

Question

I wanted to share this family photo of my grandfather, Alexander Norval Keay with the community. Norval, who was nine years old in this photo was considered by many to be incredibly good looking throughout his life. This attribute did not always work in his favor however, with personal scandals dogging him until his final days at age 54.

Location: Everett Washington. Date: 1907.

I love the chair. Great idea to put Norval in an over-sized wooden chair. Too handsome for his own good, maybe this chair was the start of his undoing.

The detail in the wood is astounding. The cushion on the chair is incredible. Norval looks quite over himself sitting with his knee in his hands.

I cannot tell if the back of his top goes into a cape, but it wouldn't surprise me.

The last item would be the beautiful plush rug on the floor.
