Family Charts ...

Looking for information regarding printable family charts. I have a file of grandparents, built using Family Tree Maker, and would like to print the file out on paper (I'm a visual kind of guy). The various charts provided by F.T.M. fail to provide the type of chart I'm looking for. They are mostly limited by the number of generations you can print or collapse the chart so you have to find matching numbers to piece the chart together.

I'm looking for software that just graphs my file (about 7600 individuals) without size restrictions our paper size.

Does such a program exist ? Thanks in advance for any help provided.

I'm unclear on what you mean by "graph". If you are looking for a program that prints large ancestor charts try Charting Companion by Progeny Software. It works with a number of genealogy programs.

Hi George, Thanks for the response and the link. I checked out the site but did not find the type chart I'm looking for. I'm looking for your basic horizontal tree but not limited to a few generations. Yes, I know it would be very large and require a plotter printer. That's not the issue, it's finding a program that doesn't limit the size to a few generations or doesn't chop up the tree to save space. As for my use of the word "graph", graph = chart.

I used to use a program called PAF Companion,  which only worked with the LDS Personal Ancestral File, that did exactly what you are looking for. With this I could generate charts 3-4 feet wide and up to 9 or 10 feet long. Unfortunately, while PAF runs on Windows 10, PAF Companion does not. This was a major disappointment when I upgraded to Windows 10.

Try contacting Progeny Software, and ask them, they may have a feature in the program that will do this; it may just not be described on the website.
Thanks George. I'll try contacting Progeny and also look into PAF Companion.
With PAF Companion you define a custom paper size, i.e., 36 x 72 inches, and the program would generate a PDFs formatted that size. I would then take the file to FedEx/Kinkos, and have them print on a plotter, As I recall a black and white print was relatively inexpensive, perhaps 50¢ a square foot; color was several dollars a square foot.
