Misinformation

The information is incorrect and I have tried to contact the admin but to no avail.  Apparently she feels that her father is the only one who ever existed.  I’d like to update all the information to include MY father’s other 6 children.  He is Beauregard-64 and my mother isn’t even included on the page!
WikiTree profile: Louis Beauregard

The profile you link to is open; so, in principle, anyone can edit it.
I tried editing it it will not let me
To see if there is anything about particular about this profile, I added a source (Find-A-Grave). I was able to do this without any problems. So, there is nothing with the profile.

I wonder, if perhaps, the seven year gap between your current two contributions, and previous ones may have something to do with it.

You appear to be a full member: you have the Genealogist Badge, Honor Code signatory badge, and Volunteer badge. However, you aren’t following any tags. Maybe that latter point is the issue; I think full members are supposed to be following some tags. Trying adding something like Beauregard as a tag and that might do it. You can always change tags to add or delete as your interests change, up to a maximum of 20.

Edit

If you would like me to undo my edit just let me know and I will do so.

Do you have sources (apart from yourself) which state who your father is and how those six children are connected to him?  It may be that he is another Louis Beauregard.

The current Profile Manager has not been on WikiTree since 2021, so no wonder you have not heard back.  Probably time to go through the Unresponsive Profile Managers process.  Click on the dark green button labelled 'Problems/Questions' just underneath his death date.

Can it be changed to me?  This is my niece and I have every bit of information to prove all of my parents children, not just my one deceased brother.
It can only be changed to you if you go through the Unresponsive Profile Manager process as stated above.
Thanks I did that.  I have not spoken to my niece in years.

The linked profile is Louis Albert, but your father is Louis M Beauregard-64.  That profile is locked by the inactive PM.

Remember that a profile person may have many children, but profiles are only created when someone wants to create a profile.  There is no requirement for all profiles to be created for all children.

Profiles can be edited to state the names of all the children, but everyone does not always do that.

To be able to edit the bio to include all the children and any other information, you will need to follow the Unresponsive Manager process which will entail requesting Trusted List Manager on the locked profile, as well as 2 messages being sent.

Hi Nicolette,

I know it can be frustrating when dealing with incorrect or misleading information; however, please remember that everyone here is a volunteer and we know mistakes will happen.

"We know mistakes are inevitable. We don't want to be afraid to make them. We assume that mistakes are unintentional when others make them and ask for the same understanding."

As Linda and Kay mentioned, intentionally creating duplicates is almost never appropriate. Instead, you should work on editing the profiles in question since they are Open privacy.

If you are having trouble editing the profiles, we can you help you get down to the root cause of that issue, but let's please take it 1 step at a time.

As Steven has said, please follow the Unresponsive Profile Manager process for your father.

You should also review the policy on Living People https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Living_People which might explain why there is missing information
It’s a locked profile for my dad.  Louis Moses.  How can I do anything with it?  If you can help me unlock it I can add the rest of the family!
You can unlock it if you just follow the Unresponsive Profile Manager process. Its not hard.

Be forewarned, however, that you cannot add living people -- see the link I posted above.

Since we all share the single family tree and all contribute to it, I took the liberty of improving the profile for Marion, but did not work on her spouses or children.
I did do that waiting for them to unlock it.  Marion was my grandfathers step daughter.  Dad’s side of the family was not part of our lives.  I did find my cousin, who is the great granddaughter of Dorothy.   How are you related?  Still working on who is who!
Okay, it might take a week for you to get added to the trusted list. In the meantime you might want to explore some of the WikiTree help; this is always a good place to start https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:New_Member_How-To and you can also work on finding sources for putting together your ancestors information.

I'm not related. I just saw that you were trying to get some help. So I picked Marion since she was not as closely related and had no active profile manager. So I did this as a bit of a demonstration of what you can do. And its sad, she lost a baby died on the day it was born. I didn't dig to see if I could find a death certificate with a reason.
Nicolette, I have sent the 3 messages needed, including Trusted list request, which is what is needed for the Unresponsive PM process.  If I don't hear anything in a week or so, I will try to remember to send in the UPM form and then I will notify you that the profiles have been orphaned.
Marion, my grandma and my dad all passed on April 8th.  Different years but weird.
Thank you Very much!

wow, all on the same date, that must be very hard a that date is approaching.  I just updated the Family Search Profile fro your father.  Only 2 children have profiles created there, also, since many of them could still be living.  The Census through 1950 are attached, so children are visible, but not added, since they could be living, which is the same with Wikitree.  Living profiles should not be created on Wikitree, unless will be participating in Wikitree.  They also should not be mentioned in the profile, for Privacy reasons.
