How to create a profile of a person born before 1700?

I can not make a profile for John Thomas who died in 1743. He was most likely born before 1700 but I don’t have a date. He is the father of Rees John and the grandfather of Theophilus Rees, so the Welsh patronymic system of names may be causing a problem. I’ve taken the exam for pre-1700 profiles.

You say you did the Pre-1700 "exam," but you don't have pre-1700 certification badge. This explains why you can't add the profile.

Added: Maybe your pre-1700 quiz submission didn't "take." Try doing it again.
