Request for two new disaster stickers

Hello.

In searching, I have not been able to find stickers for the two following events, and so, request that stickers be created for these disasters.

1. The 1918 influenza pandemic - see Busby-2042 and Howe-12644, which profiles cite applicable sources relating to the pandemic.

2. The 1931 Napier Earthquake in New Zealand, for which, a Wikitree category exists, referring to the earthquake as the 1931 Hawkes Bay Earthquake (although, my understanding is that the earthquake is known in New Zealand, as the Napier Earthquake). See Pointon-245, whence the Find A Grave memorial refers to the mass grave involved, and, that web page refers to the death toll from the earthquake, as being 258.

I contend that both of these disasters should have stickers available, for applying to the profiles of people killed by the disasters.

Thank you in anticipation.

The biological disaster sticker is used for the 1918 flu pandemic. You specify the disaster. For an example, see the profile of my great-grandfather's sister Marie (Schneider) Illig, who died in the pandemic.

Okay; whilst I prefer that a disease-specific sticker would be created, to be so applied, so as to differentiate influenza pandemics and bubonic plagues, from a shark feeding frenzy eating all of the passengers on a cruise liner, I have applied a variant of that sticker (varied the wording - "involved in a disease pandemic", sounds like the person was involved in spreading it, rather than being a victim of it),  to the two profiles mentioned.

With the use of generic stickers, such as the "World Wide Disaster, Biological", does this mean that a "Geological Disaster" sticker exists, and, should be applied, to geological disasters, such as volcanic eruptions (the White Island volcanic eruption, and, the Mount Tarawera volcanic eruption, both in New Zealand), and earthquakes, such as the 1931 Napier Earthquake (or, Hawkes Bay Earthquake), in New Zealand, and, other earthquakes that qualify as disasters (>10 fatalities), around the world?
They are location-specific. You would be looking here:

The problem with the reply from Dina Grozev, is that that refers to a Wikitree Category, and, not to a sticker. Whilst that web page, that lists profiles that qualify for that category, does not include either of the two profiles that I cited, of relatives who died due to that pandemic, and, does not indicate how to get the two profiles included for that categorization, a profile that is so categorised, does not (I believe) consequently have an applicable sticker applied, unless an applicable sticker is available, and, the applicable sticker, manually applied, separate to the application of the category.

I may be wrong, but, that is my understanding.
There has been (and still is) a push from the categorisation folk - and others - to NOT have stickers also apply categories.  That the two functions should be separate.
I have not said that I want for applying a sticker to institute applying a category.

My last previous post, stated that the post to which I was referring, referred me to a category, and, I have been seeking extra stickers; not automated application of a category, from applying a sticker.

The two relatives of whom I know to have died from the 1918 influenza pandemic, are not shown to be included in the list of people to whom that cited category, applies, and, I do not know how to get them included,

That was one point that I raised.

The other point, is that I have been seeking creation of stickers (we, the plebs, cannot create stickers, from my understanding - we can request them, but, not create them), that I have found to not exist.

But, I have not sought to have the application of a sticker, automatically apply a category, to a profile. My understanding is that the application of a category to a profile, is done by the applicable category project people, upon them finding a profile to be eligible for the category.

I have been seeking application of stickers (visible to the public), and, I have not been seeking application of categories.

Perhaps, the categories projects  people  could use spiders or something, to trawl through profiles that have a sticker, for which a category may be applicable, and, then, upon finding such profiles, could determine, themselves, whether each such profile, is eligible for the applicable category to be applied to the profile.

But, all that I want, in this instance, is the two stickers that I sought, so that I could apply them to the profiles.

{{Worldwide Disasters Sticker|text=was a victim of the 1918 Spanish Flu Pandemic}}

What I had used, was this;

{{Worldwide Disasters Sticker|text=, Died in Disaster, Biological, 1918 Influenza Pandemic}}

using the template as referenced in a previous post in this thread.

I note that no Template web page exists for this sticker;

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:Biological_Disasters

returned "This page does not exist.".

See first answer to my query, posted by E Gatlin.
I have now edited (again) the wording of the sticker text, to now be, for both my cited applicable profiles for the 1918 influenza pandemic;

{{Worldwide Disasters Sticker|text= died as victim of 1918 Influenza Pandemic}}

In the absence of a specified applicable template for that pandemic, the sticker text that I am now using, seems to me, to be the most appropriate; and, as can be seen, the sticker text, in the absence of a defined sticker for the particular disaster, will likely vary between each of the  profiles for people that died as a victim of the disaster.

It is unfortunate that such inconsistency is in effect.
Thanks! I'll update the wording on my applicable profiles.
