Please check your Atkinson family trees! If there is not yet a y-DNA test associated with profiles of your male Atkinson Ancestors we NEED your help!

We are trying to unravel which Atkinson family lines are likely related within the timeframe of genealogical surnames, even when the paper record is thin. We hope to find at least one y-DNA tester for each possible Atkinson line. As the genealogy connects the tree - the WikiTree magic will provide hints and evidence of family connections using the fact of a y-DNA test on a tester's profile. (No DNA is moved to WikiTree).

The specific request below is the first we are making - Need was discovered with the assistance of the new WikiTree+ app One Name Tree by Ian Beacall Thank you Ian.

Atkinson DNA  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Atkinson_DNA is seeking to make contact with surviving male Atkinson descendants of Samuel Atkinson (abt.1740-1797) .

We hope you can assist us in unraveling Atkinson lines  with y-DNA testing. Please join us.

Please contact Ann (Atkinson) Sawusch, coordinator of the Atkinson Name Study and volunteer Admin. for the FTDNA Atkinson Surname Project for more information. All assistance is welcome! Thanks for any comments, questions, and collaboration!
