Trying to piece together my Red River Settler ancestors Bannerman and Sutherland

Hello!  I will be reading through all the posts regarding the Selkirk Settlers but wanted to reach out also.  I have got quite a conundrum with trying to piece together my Scottish ancestors with surnames of Bannerman and Sutherland.  There are soooooo many and the trees on Ancestry (including mine now!) are a mess.  The one thing I know for certain is that my 4th great-grandfather and grandmother are Hugh Bannerman (abt 1793 Scotland-? Ontario) and Isabella Sutherland (abt 1802 Kildonan, Sutherland, Scotland) - 1894 Ontario).  Their daughter Ellen Isabella Bannerman (1829 Ontario - 1904 Washington) married James Alexander Gallinger, a United Empire Loyalist decendant, (1821 Cornwall, Ontario - 1895 Sundance, Wyoming).  From there, it's a piece of cake.

I know Hugh Bannerman came from Sutherland, Scotland to the Red River in 1813, and Isabella Sutherland also came with her parents James Sutherland and Marion Polson in 1813, along with some brother's and sisters.

The problem I'm having is trying to put together the families both prior to coming to Canada, and after.  There are so many Sutherlands, Bannermans, and Gunns, etc.

Through my testing at ancestry, I have DNA matches with Heman (Haman) and Janet Sutherland's decendants (Isabella's brother and sister who also came over in 1812-1814), so I feel I'm on the right track, but when looking at people on Ancestry who have built their trees with some of these ancestor's I find no match.  So, something's wrong.

Any help would be awesome!  Thanks everyone!

It seems Hugh Banneraman arrived at Churchill in August of 1813 and came to the Red River in 1814. He came from Dackalury, Kildonan Parish, Sutherland Scotland. Knowing what parish he came from might make it easier to find his/your family there. Several papers mention this...

In this one it lists a Hugh Bannerman (and what looks to be other members of his family) age 19, from Dackalury. Page 169 says those marked with CY arrived on the ship Prince of Wales and walked from Churchill to York and then to Red River.  https://www.mhs.mb.ca/docs/transactions/1/selkirkletters.

FamilySearch has one record that has been attached to Hugh Bannermans profile, a birth registration. No way to know if its correct but a possibility.

Hi Nicole, Marion [Mary] Polson was the 2nd wife of James Sutherland, a Weaver and Church of Scotland elder from Kildonan. Isabella was born circa 1807 the youngest of the 4 of their children who emigrated with them, arriving at York, on 26th August 1815 on board the Prince of Wales. Heman was his son from his first marriage to Meage McBeath. I hope this helps a little
