I am looking for evidence of my great grandmother's ancestry. Helen was born Helen Patkowski in 1888, and was adopted early on by Theophil and Frances Zyna. The only evidence we have of her ancestry is a newspaper clipping giving her LNAB and the fact that her mother could not care for her.
Because of this, I presume that her LNAB is the same LNAB as her mother.
Recently, someone on FTDNA messaged me that they were a DNA match and they had Patkowski in their ancestry. They descended from Anna Patkowski (1828-1912), daughter of Josef Patkowski (c1793). They resided in Schwarznau, West Prussia (modern day Szwarcenowo, Poland). I'm hoping someone can help me find immigration records for someone descended from Josef to help me connect Helen.
