Improving Betsy Ross's WT biography

As genealogists, one of our most important duties is to provide accurate information and quality sources for information. In nearly every notable profile, we have had at least several primary sources. For instance, one can find on the profiles of Marilyn Monroe and Martin Luther King, Jr. multiple primary sources. However, this great standard falls short for one individual whose legacy relies heavily on genealogical research: Betsy Ross.

Ross's biography on WT is reliant on secondary sources and is very disorganized. To illustrate, it begins with ancestral notes rather than an introduction to her genealogical/family background. This makes the biographical section, in addition to the reliance on secondary sources, very disorganized, and (in my opinion) a profile that does not match the standards of a WT profile.

I have been researching Ross's life for several months now (intended for a potential book) and have worked on a rough draft of a potential framework that could be used for an improved WT profile. However, before any changes would be considered, I think it is necessary for input on potential changes, thus leading me to ask here.

One note for other leaders reading this, the profile is project protected yet no project is a profile manager. I don’t see ( overlooking?) who protected the profile.
It was done in 2012 before Projects had to be connected.  I have reached out to the United States History Project Leaders.

Thanks for the outreach, Linda. The tags didn't include united_states (I added it) or other tags that project leaders typically follow.

This profile was formerly managed by the 1776 project, but apparently it lost project management when the direction of that project shifted. United States could be added as a manager now. The sub-projects for New Jersey or Pennsylvania look like logical choices for manager.

Note, however, that:

Project protection does not prevent editing of a profile and

Adding a project account as a profile manager does not mean that a team of ace genealogists is going to suddenly show up and improve the profile.

T. Marsh can start working on biography improvement and sourcing now. There is no need to wait for decisions about which project will handle profile management.

T, should Betsy Ross also have a Notables Sticker? Here is her Wikipedia page:

There is a Notables sticker, it is just down a little ways

T, Quakers Project has agreed to be co-manager on the profile at request of United States Project. Per Ellen Smith’s comment to the question, it’s fine to go ahead with bio improvement and sourcing. And, thank you so much for your desire to improve this profile.
