Can a report be generated that identifies persons living in specific timeframes (eg, in the interval 1840-1860) ?

I hope to record biographical data about family and how they may have interacted at particular times, for example in the mid-1880's when so many Irish people emigrated as a result of the famine.

In my extended family, there are certain localities where members of different branches of the family were contemporaries, and it is likely, for some of these, that they encountered each other.  I woud like to explore this, and hence it would be useful to know which extended family members resided in a specific locality in  any given period.

In my family history, two such localities stand out as having clusters of my relatives (who may not have been relatives of each other at the relevant times). These are in County Clare, Ireland,  Drayton Queensland Australia, and Randwick NSW Australia.

I have just added a timeline to the irish/Fermanagh profiles for a similar reason. Created it under add "new thing" with the category [[Category: County Fermanagh]] to get it into the list. (have yet to add sources but working on it)

the path to find it is categories - regions - europe (en) -  ireland - counties - fermanagh - H - History of Fermanagh Willis timeline

Haven't had any feedback but figured such a list might help others too

would like to hear what you think - Ireland is such an interesting place for research
Well if im answering correctly. .any area in the us have done detailed census forms and theg are available with the right search metbods. i have found going to a family cemetery to get a list and find mucb of 2-3 Surnames...
Thank you Valerie, I  will  look at this., Regards, Mark.
Thank you Heather for your reply. In Australia, personal privacy is heavily protected by law, but the kind of records I am looking for could potentially be manually compiled by collecting data from living family members - which is one of the things I  would like to do. Obviously, though, I  would need a list of currently living family members.

Your suggestion of going to a family cemetery also is a good one, and I  have identified severalnpeople as previously unknown family by doing this.

Unfortunately,  the huge difficulty is that most of my pre-1870 ancestors come from the other side of the world, mostly Ireland, some in England, and it is not practical to go over for a quick look, this being over 24 hours away by airplane (we live in Australia).

Your advice is useful, though, as there are some family who migrated directly to the USA from Ireland, and a small number who left Australia to live in the Usa.

Thank you,

Mark Hanlon
