all the 'Thons' are for all of WikiTree - The Kiwi Crew may focus generally on profiles related to New Zealand but all connects from anywhere in the world count and are most welcome :-)

I have joined up, but are so new it will be a great experience.  As I add to my family tree, I have discovered orphan profiles which I have adopted.  Do I link them now, or wait until the Connect-a-Thon starts?

I have one person that I know died as a young adult, not marrying or having children.  He was my great-uncle.  Is there a way to remove the children link from the biography?

Only connections made during the Connect-A-Thon count towards your score. There should be rules around somewhere for you to read.

You can unlink people from a profile.Go into edit and on the right hand side there will be a list of family, Choose remove under the name.

Susan, go ahead, link all profiles as you discover them and add as many of your family as you have time for now, the practice will stand you in good stead for the connect-a-thon in January. The more practice you can get in developing family trees, the more you will enjoy Wikitree. So far as connecting profiles go - you have the whole world to connect your own family too, there's endless scope to add cousins, second cousins, third cousins, all their spouses and their cousins you'll never stop once you get going.

Where there is an individual with no spouse and/or no children, there is a facility in the edit page to record ''no children'' and then click on spouses add/edit - which takes you to a choice ''add spouse'' or ''unmarried'' -  click ''unmarried'' which takes you to the bottom of the profile where you choose ''soandso has no spouse''

Just checking things out... LOL

3 of those dates (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday) really should be moved down 2 lines - so that they sit between 10 PM and 2 AM

 Makes it easier for people to read and understand.

Otherwise, great job!!

Just in case you don’t know, the rules have changed. A point will now be earned for ANY new profile added to an existing profile regardless of when that profile was created. And if you haven’t done so already, join the team on Discord. It’s easy to  join and we’ve been chatting away there already.

Post 'thon wrap up SUGGESTIONS / CORRECTIONS are already up and & I noticed that in the post 'thon summary this morning that there was a reminder that unwanted profiles could be deleted from your watch list. PLEASE check your suggestions list and make the necessary corrections before orphaning profiles.
