I am unable to find a birth record for this ancestor of mine, can I use DNA to determine where she came from?

This record doesn’t necessarily mean they were separated, she might have moved to be with family/friends whilst he was away on active service

Thank you, yes, but unfortunately they were very much separated. The military record only serves to document the separation rather than prove it. My brick wall with Margaret Anderson, is I can’t find a birth certificate for her, is there another way to find out about her from my DNA?
