Would love to find our earlier relatives McCarthy before 1840?

Question

I have found cousins in Ireland to the McCarthys. I can not find our linking grandparents do to records. We have a Daniel born in 1806. He was married in Kenmare Kerry He went to America. We can find not birth records or parents so we can link with our cousins.Would so greatly appreciate any help. I have signed up For ancestry, mt Heritage and ged match with no luck.
