Please help straighten out the confusion

Question

I have come across a family member that has been causing me so much confusion. I find some sources to support the facts, and then I find some that seem to support the facts, but yet they are wrong. I would greatly appreciate any help given!

The man in question is Reuben Mansfield Allphin  Allphin-38

The FACTS I know are that he was married 4 times

M#1 Susan Brumback (mother was Elizabeth Lee Simpson)(She was first married to Thomas Weber, and had 3 children with him) and they had 9 children that I know of. After Susan passed away He re married

M#2 was 23 Nov 1852 to Susan Hills (I keep finding sources that show that Susan Hills and Susan Brumback are the same person, but they are not) Reuben and this Susan had 1 child

M#3 Emeline Brumback and they had 4 children

M#4 Rachel E Rich no known children were born

I am having a difficult time finding an accurate DOB for Reuben M Allphin. I have seen both 20 Oct 1800 and 2 Sep 1801
