"Maxine V. Warren Garrett, 49, of 801B Greensprings Road, Hanover, died at the Hanover Hospital Thursday morning, July 24.

"Born in Adams County, she was the daughter of the late Maurice S. and Ruth Lochbaum Warren. She was the wife of Glenn J. Garrett.

"She was supervisor for Berwick Township for five years. She was employed at the Sylvania Shoe Company and was a member of the Greensprings Rod and Gun Club.

"Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, New Oxford, with the Rev. Dale D. Brown, pastor of the West Side Baptist Church, Thomasville, officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.

"Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday evening from 7 to 9."

Marriage Records

[Research Note: Maxine was first married in 1954 to Gerald L. McLane (1935 - 1968) (not profiled), and that was followed by a second marriage to Norman C. Zinn, Jr. (1929 - 1978) (not profiled) around 1964. After Norman's death, Maxine married Glenn J. Garrett (TBD - TBD) (not profiled). Her obituary identifies 11 children and 3 step-children with a number of different surnames. It appears that she probably had children with all three husbands, and that several of the husbands had children by other marriages. Also, we note that the March 1952 obituary for Maxine's mother, Ruth, lists her as "Mrs. Maxine Warner" of Philadelphia. While that could be an indicator of another husband, it seems more likely that it's just a garble of Maxine's birth surname, since she was married in 1954 using her maiden name, Warren.]
