John Potter was born before August 29, 1735 in Cramlington, Northumberland, England, son of John Potter (1686–1763) and Mary Sharp (1694–1776).
He was baptised on 29 August 1735 in Horton By Blyth, Northumberland, England.[1]
John married, firstly, Susannah Yalding on 23 January 1758 in Saint Matthew Friday Street, London, London, England.[2]
He married secondly Ann Winchester (born Hubbard), a widow. The banns were read in 1776 in Saint James, Clerkenwell: Clerkenwell Green, Islington, England.[3]
