On July 7, 1920, he left Dalby for Minnesota where his dad had received word of farmland from his brother James in the recently opened Clearwater County. His father homesteaded a farm in Dudley Township, Clearwater County, and across the border into Buzzle Township, Beltrami County. He never married,
Bengt died on 3 Oct 1997 in Clearbrook, Clearwater, Minnesota, United States aged 95.
