Biography
David was born 14 Feb 1720. [1] He is the son of David Jenkins and Sarah Seers. David was quite young when his father David Sr. died (before Nov. 1724) At the age of 15 he was named executor of his grandfather John Jenkin (abt.1660-aft.1735) 's will. His stepfather Joshua Cheever was to serve in that capacity until qualifying age was achieved.
Marriage: First married Elizabeth Rolfe, in Boston, 29 Oct 1741. [2] There is another Boston town record that says, per New South Church record, the marriage date was 18 Nov 1741, [3]
This couple may have become members of the New NORTH Church after marriage because Elizabeth is recorded as receiving the covenant there 17 Apr. 1743 and son John was baptized there 19 June 1743 as son of David and Elizabeth. [4]
2nd Marriage: Rebecca Atkins (1727-) 2 Feb. 1747, Boston, Mass. Bay Colony.[5] David and Rebecca were cousins. Their mothers were first cousins.
