I have been engaged in genealogy for more than 50 years (since my paternal grandmother asked for my help with her DAR application). I have a major brick wall with my great x 3 grandfather, Henry Washington Harris, who was born on 30 January 1822 in South Carolina and died on 2 February 1914 in Belton, Anderson County, South Carolina. He is buried at the Big Creek Baptist Church cemetery in Williamston, South Carolina. I have several unsourced family histories that state his parents were either Andrew Pickens Harris (grandson of General Andrew Pickens of the American Revolution) and Jane (Russell) Harris OR Thomas Harris and Unknown.

Biography

I am a licensed psychologist who is also married to a psychologist. I am a father, medical writer, family historian, and photographer as well as a retired college professor. I hold advanced black belts in several martial arts and am certified by the South Korean Moo Do Kwan as an instructor in Tang Soo Do and Soo Bahk Do. I also have extensive training in Judo and Aikido. I have been a genealogical researcher since 1963, when my grandmother requested my assistance in documenting her eligibility for the DAR.
