In Loving Memory of Dennis Aubrey Cooper, aged 75, a respected U.S. Veteran and cherished member of the South Bend community, concluded his valiant journey of life on September 7, 2022, in Butler, Indiana. Born into the loving arms of Denver H. and Cecelia Marie (Jarrett) Cooper on October 18, 1946, in Charleston, West Virginia, Dennis’s life was a testament to the enduring spirit of family and service. Dennis’s legacy is carried forward by his devoted family: his three children and four step-children, who were his pride and joy; his brothers, Truman Beverly Cooper and Darryl Hoyt Cooper, who stood by him through thick and thin; his sisters, Barbara Ellen Marley, Audrey Fay Jerrell, and Nancy Geraldine Larisey, who shared with him the unbreakable bond of sibling love; and a host of nieces and nephews, whose lives he touched with his wisdom and kindness. Preceding Dennis in his journey were his beloved wife, Diane Trumbull, who left our world on September 18, 2008, his guiding stars, parents Denver and Cecelia Marie Cooper, and his siblings who departed too soon. Dennis a man of faith, who found solace and strength at Forest Brook Missionary Church alongside his wife. His courage and honor shone brightly as he served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War, a period that defined his unwavering patriotism.
