Biography

Samuel was born in 1780. He is the son of Simeon Beers.

His death notice reads, "In Newtown, on the 23d, inst. Mr. Samuel Beers Jun. of a consumption, aged 41 years."^[1]

His will is dated 19 May 1820 and proved on 14 August 1820 in Newtown. He mentions his wife Rissa, and his three sons, Simeon N. Beers, George Beers, and Cyvenius Beers.^[2]

His inventory was completed on 9 March 1821 in Newtown and on 19 October 1820 in Kent.^[3]

Samuel and Rissa were ancestors of the Chicago branch of the Beers family.

• Simeon Nichols Beers b. 2 Sep. 1801, died at Chicago, Ill, 11 July 1851, married Ann Eliza McEwen.
• George Beers, b. 1804; died at Newtown 6 or 16 Feb. 1826, aged 21.
• Cyrenius Beers, b. 1 June 1813, died 25 Feb 1878 at Chicago, Ill., married Mary Curtis.
