Cyrenius Beers was born 10 Feb 1778 at Newtown, Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States,^[1] died 6 Feb 1853 at New York City, New York, USA,^[2] son of Oliver Beers and Catherine Hubbell;

married abt 1806 to Margaret Van Antwerp, born 9 Jan 1787 at New York City, NY, USA, died there 21 Dec 1870, daughter of Daniel J. Van Antwerp (1764– ) and Lydia (Earle) Van Antwerp (1761–1859); buried at New York Marble Cemetery, New York City (Manhattan), New York County, New York, USA;^[3]

He is reportedly the first of the Connecticut Beers family to move to New York City and permanently reside there. He operated a successful wholesale grocery business as Beers and Woodhull, at 160 Front Street, until his death.^[4]
