Biography
Samuel Beers was born 6 Dec 1749 at Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America, died 1 April 1823 ("typhus fever"), son of Nathan Beers (1718 - 1805) and Lydia (Hawley) Beers (1725 - abt. 1796);
he married 1st, Rebecca Baxter, born abt 1756, died 1785 (see gravestone) at Newtown, Conn., parents unidentified; [1] [2]
he married 2nd, Ann Smith Peck, born Born 16 Mar 1760 at Newtown, CT, died there 23 Nov 1827, daughter of Gideon Peck (1725-1790) and Abiah (Smith) Peck (1728-1819) of Newtown;
Samuel Beers is buried at Newtown Village Cemetery, Newtown, Fairfield County, Connecticut, USA.[3]
According to Newtown Vital Statistics (Barbour Collection), he was a Hatter.
