I'm married, retired and live in Cape Town, South Africa. We have a daughter, Melissa, who lives in Cape Town and a son, Paul, who lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. He is married with 2 sons. I enjoy hiking in the nearby mountains. I'm also part of a group who work in our mountains removing alien vegetation

You were asking me about a profile for someone that another member manages. The first thing would be to contact the manager. However, since this person does not appear to have been active recently you may have to edit the profile if you believe there are errors. If you are not confident about doing this, please ask for help on the G2G Forum.

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!
It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

The merge for Prudence is correct. Since they have profiles on FamilySearch with sources, you should add the sources to the WikITree profiles for Prudence and each sibling.
Her siblings were added with Luke as the father and shown as "half" because the mother isn't added.
Add Mary Jelly shown as Luke's wife on FamilySearch, create a WikITree profile with sources, then attach her as the mother to the listed children.

1. For the siblings John & Elizabeth can I copy the sources from Linda Ashworth's tree, they aren't under all the sources I have for Luke Little ? https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/sources/K2Y1-5SH 2. Mary Jelley is alreday in the Ashworth tree. Can I add another source for her in that tree ? After that can I add Mary as Luke's wife by merging ? 3. After this has been done will Prudence Jane & Prudence be removed from the siblings in the 2 trees ? 4. Will there be 2 ID s for the same person ? 5. Should the middle name be added to the Ashworth tree ? Sorry about all the questions but I'd rather get it right to start with than have to try & correct mistakes later Regards Neville

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
You mentioned that you don’t know much about your family tree yet. I assume you are new to genealogy. No problem! Every genealogist is a beginner at some point. Take your time, keep track of sources, and ask questions. Check here for tips.

When I created a profile for Luke Little as the mother of Prudence Attridge I found there was an existing profile for Prudence Attridge. In my tree there was a profile for Prudence Jane Attridge & she is the wife of Henry Attridge. See the image in Henry's profile, in that image his wife is "Prudence Jane Attridge nee Little" I therefore merged them but now they don't seem correct In the profiles for Prudence [half] appears next to a lot of the names. This doesn't look right & I tried to correct it but couldn't get it right. Could you please tell me how to correct this profile.
