Brickwall Destruction
Grandparents
Charles Anderson has been a brickwall for our family for over 40 years. This wall came down Aug 2018 with the creation of Charles Swope after DNA evidence proved his identity conclusively.
Great-Grandparents
Mabel Shadd has been another 40+ year brickwall for our family. It was smashed within about 20 minutes of receiving my Ancestry DNA results in Dec 2017. A match with the Shadd surname had posted an obituary showing Mabel's connection to the Shadd family.
Thomas Jones has been a mystery for many years. The family knew he came from Wales but to find a Jones in Wales is next to impossible. What finally broke this for me was finding a Family Search profile with his correct birthdate on it but nothing else recognizable. This was significant because the only source for his DOB I had found was his death record which no one else had. This led me to Arvonia, Kansas where I found 70 of the towns 100 residents to be named Jones. Oh, joy! After contacting several people through Ancestry with the Family Search Thomas Jones in their trees I finally found the source of the birthdate. A hand written history which is posted on his profile.
2nd Great-Grandparents
Caroline Zanto was a brickwall for many years. I was able to break through by deep diving a group of unidentifed Ancestry matches known to be related but not direct descendants of her. Research revealed a common surname of Santo in their trees. This wall came down Dec 2019.
Sarah Lipsett Browne is a long time brickwall. This brickwall came down Jul 2022 after working with another descedant of Sarah's father. I had already connected Sarah with 4 of her siblings all living in New Brunswick and the person I was working with had 7 children, all living in Ontario, of the man we now agree is the father of all of them. The key was one of Sarah's brothers I was sure belonged with her other 4 siblings but was being claimed as one of the Ontario group. Several hours of searching finally turned up a transcription of baptism records from Ballyshannon containing the dates of birth and/or baptism for all 12 children plus 4 more neither of us had seen before. This along with some DNA matches between descendants of the New Brunswick and Ontario group helped tie the two groups together.
Ongoing Brickwalls
Scott Anderson migrated from WikiTree to Rabbit Holes.
2nd Great-Grandparents
Herman Zastrow is a new brickwall for me created when Charles Swope was indentified. I have not spent much time on him.
Jane Jacob is a new brickwall for me created when Thomas Jones was indentified. I have not spent much time on her.

Thank you for finding my error. I watch a Wiki Tree lecture at Roots Tech and thought I would give Wiki Tree another try. I did not mean to create a new John Reams born about 1831. Several Reams Ancestry cousins have been working on this branch for years. We have some facts and some presumptions on some of these family members. Judah J Evans info is corroborated by Vickye Blatherswick and an 1832 Kentucky Family Bible for the Evans Family.
I appreciate your assistance.
My brother and I have taken DNA tests but I am completely perplexed on how to link these to Wiki Tree.
Many thanks,
Donita Reams
