How could Matthew Marshall have died in Texas in 1800?

Matthew Marshall (Marshall-14156) is listed as being born in North Carolina in 1725 and dying in Texas in 1800.  I believe the source for this information confused him with the data for a different Matthew Marshall who died in Newton County, Texas in 1852.  in 1800 Texas was still part of New Spain, which is now Mexico, so Newton County, Texas did not exist. Does anyone know where he really died?

these mix ups are annoying, but then they can be the beginning of a new adventure  trying to sort them properly if you look at them another way!  Working a similar mix up myself - guy was married in 1812 but not born until 1890...so yeah - good luck.

Yes, different Matthew Marshall.  The one who died in Newton County in 1850 or 1852 was my ancestor and he was born in Burk County, Georgia.
