Proof that this couple are the parents of Jesse P. Boyd?

Question

Looking for documentation that Jesse P. Boyd b.1820 Franklin Co, VA is indeed, the son of  William Jesse Boyd II and Sarah Newberry.  Is there a will I don't know about?  Can anyone point me in the right direction?
