Who was the first KIDWELL in USA? When did they emigrate to USA?

Pure curiosity. I am descended from the Kidwells who emigrated to South Africa in 1820.

I see several Kidwells in USA as well, and wondered about that history. (I am living in USA myself these days, and have lost track of cousins who also moved from SA to USA)
