Is the Connection Finder supposed to resolve old/previous WikiTree ID's?

I tried this link and it said no Connection Found.

When I go to his profile, it says that he is my 25th great grandfather.

Then I figured out that the link contained a previous WikiTree ID:

  • Huntingdon-7

When I replaced the old WikiTree ID with the new WikiTree ID in the above link, the Connection Finder worked fine.

So, is the Connection Finder supposed to resolve old/previous WikiTree ID's? or should it?

Yes, and this has been added to the to-do list :)

We updated the CF so if you enter a merged-away ID, it will use the new ID.

The connection finder is supposed to find the SHORTEST connection with you. Through siblings and marriages.

Your relationship finder line is not the shortest. That shows the blood line.

PS To answer your actual question - which is about the "old" ID Huntingdon-7.

The Huntiingdon - 7 profile at some point in the past was merged into the Dunkeld profile (or the LNAB was changed) so technically, it no longer exists, but also cannot be re-used since it is still linked to the Dunkeld profile.

Hope this helps.
