The Qianlong Emperor in China was one of the longest-reigning monarchs in history
弘曆 (Qianlong Emperor) was born in 1711. He was the son of 雍正 愛新覺羅.
He was a capable and cultured ruler who inherited a thriving empire. During his long reign, the Qing Empire reached its most splendid and prosperous era, boasting the largest population and economy in the world. Even after his retirement of 60 years as Emperor, he retained ultimate power as the Emperor Emeritus.
He passed away in 1799.
