藏六 was born in 1885.
He was moved by the US government to the Topaz War Relocation Center in Topaz, Utah In September 1942. While being held there, Obata founded and directed The Topaz Art School, which had 16 artist/instructors who taught 23 subjects to over 600 students.[1]
He passed away in 1975.
