Biography
John Young was born in Appalachia, in Virginia.
Native Virginian (Born in Virginia, Now West Virginia as of June 20, 1863)
John and Susannah lived at Union; in 1840 they moved to Braxton County, WV. John served through the War of 1812, one term of enlistment in the southern and eastern States, and another term in Canada where he marched on ice a good deal of the time. HIs widow was drawing a pension for John's services in the War.
