Biography

Charles was born in 1869 in Illinois. He passed away about 1952 in Wisconsin; his date of death shown here was calculated from his age at death appearing in his obituary; his gravestone, in Prairie View Cemetery in Champaign County, Illinois, indicates simply the year of 1952.

He married Ruth Bond in 1895 and fifteen years later was living with her, their three sons and a teenage servant girl on a rented farm in Piatt County. A decade after his wife's death he was living with his youngest son, Cecil, and daughter-in-law on a farm in Illinois. Two decades after this, he died in Wisconsin.
