Thomas emigrated to Tasmania arriving in Launceston 28 August 1857 on the Southern Eagle with his parents Thomas and Maria and 2 siblings, uncle William and family and aunts Sarah and Elizabeth and their families, and settled in Norfolk Creek near Devonport.
