I John Yeats of the County of Caswell and State of North Carolina being weak in body and considering the shortness of this transitory life do make this my last Will and Testament.
Item: First I give my Soul to God hoping he will forgive it through the mediation of Jesus Christ.
Item: Secondly I give my body to the dust from which it cam be buried in a Christian manner.
Item: I give to my loving wife Sarah Yeats a Negro girl named Jane also one hunting saddle and one small gilt trunk.
Item: I give to my son William Yeats my lands and plantation and all the plantation tools.
Item: I give to my son Thomas Yeats one Negro wench named Sarah.
Item: I give to my son John Yeats one Negro wench named Patt
Item: I give to my son James Yeats one Negro boy named Peter also one cow.
Item: I give to my daughter Milley Yeats one Negro girl named Fan also a feather bed and furniture also one heifer
Item: I give to my three eldest daughters namely Joyce, Keziah and Elizabeth all the rest of my Estate after all just debts is paid to be equally divided amongst the three I leave my three eldest sons namely William, Thomas, and John Executors of said estate in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this first day of May anno ___ One Thousand Seven hundred and Seventy Nine.
