Biography

He was possibly in Lancashire about 1836. His parents were recorded as William Yates and Mary Trelfird, but no Andrew Yates are recorded as being born in that time frame to a William. The surngame "Trilferd" doesn't exist in the records.

He married Mary Thomas in 1865 in the colony of Victoria^[1]. James Yates and Fanny Yates were witnesses although their relationship is uncertain. Mary and Andrew had five children:

• Andrew Henry Yates (1869) at Pleasant Creek^[2]
• William Yates (1872) at Clunes^[3]
• James Yates (1874) at Malmsbury^[4]
• Mary Elizabeth Yates (1877) at Malmsbury^[5]
• Ernest Edwin Yates (1879) at Malmsbury^[6]

He died in Malmsbury 1879 in the Colony of Victoria^{[7][8][9][10][11]}. HIs parents were recorded as William Yates and Mary Trelfird.
