Biography

Ann was born Chester county, Pennsylvania, British Colonial America to Peter and Alice Yarnall. U.S., Hinshaw Index to Selected Quaker Records, 1680-1940 placed her birth date as July 11 1721. She married Thomas Henton in 1747 leaving the Quaker faith as he was a nonmember: "Ann Yarnall, Hath Gone Into Vain Customs and Fashions; Furthermore she joined in marriage with a husband who is not in not in Unity with the Friends, this Meeting does comply and do agree to her desire and do agree to quit their hands of her" (U.S., Quaker Meeting Records, 1681-1935). Daughter Percis Henton Boone married Josiah Noah Boone II. Son George served in the American Revolution.
