Hi Margaret, I recently read your post for McIntyre-3523. I’m currently researching Alexander as a possible ancestor through his daughter Mary (Green) McIntyre. I would love to know more about your DNA results and any sources or any info at all you might have.

Feel free to message me.

Thanks, Andrea

Hi Andrea, i just spotted this. I have no link that im aware of to Alexander mcintyre, at this point. When im at a standstill as to what to do next, i pick a area, and do the mcintyres in that area. In the hope they do connect up eventually....

There are a number of mcintyre groups on Facebook, and at least 2 with DNA. one Irish and 1 Scottish. If you have a Gedmatch no, go to the groups at the bottom of the column in gedmatch and request to join the Macintyre/Mcintyre groups. but you will need to join the facebook groups also. On Family tree dna there is also a Mcintyre group to join. all these are free. we do match a few Mcintyres in USA. who have got back to Uist with their trees. but we dont have the connectiing Person. Id be very interested if you match a Richard Macintyre, Sehn Mcintyre and his cousins Daniel and Elizabeth. Sehn is activly trying to join us all. Margaret

Thank you for the tips. I appreciate them.

Margaret, we noticed you are creating duplicates of the Houghtons. Also at Wiktree, we do not use "de" or "De" in the surnames as separate; we combine into one name. See this Naming Convention for European Aristocrats > https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Name_Fields_for_European_Aristocrats

Thanks. If you have any questions about the profiles in this time period, please ask the project.

Hi Marg,

How's it all going? Are you making any progress on your research? Chris

Greetings!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

You're now a member of the WikiTree Community.

Please note we're trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means ONE profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add Profiles to WikiTree.

If you'd like any help, see the help section from the menu, top right, or visit the G2G forum. You might want to check out this 5-minute introductory video a member created.

It would be fine for you to enter your information manually. That way you have more control over each profile because you can research and source each one as you create them...maybe even add some photos along the way. :)

The next step is to click the volunteer button, then one of our greeters will be able to confirm your membership. After that, you can start creating profiles for your ancestors. :)
