Biography

He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.) He was Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) N R Yorkshire. He graduated with a New College Oxford Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) He gained the title of 3rd Baronet Worsley. He was Chartered Accountant (C.A.) N R Yorks, Honour Doctor of Law (LL.D.) Leeds U , Major 2nd Vol Battalion Yorkshire Regiment in 1923.

Birth

Sir William Henry Arthington Worsley, 3rd Bt. was born on 12 January 1861 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England. He was the son of Arthington Worsley and Marianne Christiana Isabelle Hely Hutchinson.

Marriage

He married Augusta Chivers Bower, daughter of Edward Chivers Bower, on 13 October 1887.

Death

He died on 27 November 1936 at age 75.

Note by Martin C. Styan: Other sources show that the children of William Worsley included: Anne Barbara Worsley born in 1833, and Agnes Isabella Worsley born in 1836. It is not clear whether "Agnes B Worsley aged 26" in the 1861 census is one, the other, or a mixture of both.
