Biography

That he was son of William Woollard of Loudoun County, Virginia, is evidence from tithable lists found at the Loudoun County Courthouse, Leesburg, Virginia. Isaac appeared as his father's tithable in 1769 and by 1775 was listed a head of household. After that year, Isaac's name disappears from the rolls of Loudoun County indicating the time about which he headed to Kentucky.

Also the settlement of William (of Loudoun)'s estate in 1785, and the will of his widow Mary in 1788 enumerated eight children, including Isaac.

In response to the estate division of of land, on 27 Oct 1788, Isaac Woollard of Jefferson County, North Carlina & Ann his wife sell to Joseph Woollard of Loudoun County, Virginia [their share] of the land left to them by William Woollard Sr.^[1] However there was never a NC county by the name of Jefferson, but there was by that time a Jefferson County in Kentucky. Also at that time the boundaries of Virginia, NC, KY and TN were in dispute.

His approximate birth date of 1754 is based on earliest marriage record of his son.

He married therefor about 1774. Rev. War participation not ascertained.

Nelson Co was created from Jefferson Co in 1784.

1791: Isaac gives consent for marriage of his daughter Mary to Joseph Saunders/Sanders in Nelson, Co., VA.^{[citation needed]}

In 1792, Isaac Woolard appears on a Taxable Property List" for Nelson Co: 1 white male above 21, 3 horses, 6 cattle, 400 acres (citing Microfilm #0008178, Nelson Co., KY Tax Bks 1792-97; 1799-1810)^[2] 192: Hardin and Green Counties are created out of Nelson Co.

1 Jun 1792: Kentucky admitted to the US as the 15th state 1793: Isaac on a list of taxables, Nelson Co., KY (citing Ford, 227)

1795 - 1810 Shows up in tax lists in Green County; is in US Census in Hardin Co.

Children

Between 1791 and 1819, they appear on the tax records ofGreen and Hardin Counties, Kentucky, and the marriages of all the children are also on record there. They were the only Woollards in Kentucky.
