Much thanks for adding me to Benjamin J.C. Ely's Trusted List! I was able to add free sources outside of Ancestry, information regarding his death date, along with connecting him to his parents. Your Gedcom is now attached to the tree so beginning tomorrow morning you can see how many degrees you are from any profile connected to the main tree on the site - the default comparison profile is Henry the VIII.
I like connecting profiles to the tree and is my main hobby, however in this case I am tangentially related to this profile and perhaps you by extension. The common ancestor is James Hazleton (1752-) of Great Clacton, Essex.
Can you please add in Ethel Grimwood's (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Grimwood-508) birthdate of 1891 to her profile? This will make it easier for others to search for it.
Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.
It looks like the England Project would be a good fit based on your branch of WikiTree. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).
Hi Gerald, re Ebsabar / Hephzibar Grimwood. I am a great grandson of Hephzibar, have carried out quite a bit of research into the family and believe that the names above are of the same person. Only one daughter of that age is found in any census; the only baptism is for Hepzibah ( 26th April 1863) ; there are no burials recorded - other than Hephibah in 1933; there are no marriages other than Hephzibah to James Davey ( 24th December 1870 ). I would be interested to hear your counter argument for 2 different people.
I've seen your name here and there as a match for my mum and my DNA (GEDMatch, FamilyTreeDNA, and MyHeritage) and I think I have found our common ancestor: William Grimwood. I believe this makes us fifth cousins!
Thanks
Matt
Gerald, welcome back to wikitree. Saw your post in g2g and noticed your surname. I've been working with a Woollard descendant for several years (that spelling) and am curious if you're connected. If you change your privacy settings to private with public tree then I can see your pedigree going back in time and see where you might connect. Thanks!
Hi Gerald, You might want to set your Privacy to Private with Public Family Tree. The WikiTree programming needs to see your Family Tree tab to make DNA and other cousin connections for you. Please take a look at my profile http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Cooper-1 where I use Private with Public Biography AND Family Tree to see a list of some of my WikiTree cousin connections and my list of U.S. Presidential cousins.
Gerald, on the upper right hand corner of your profile page you'll see 'My WikiTree.' Click on that, then click on Watchlist from the drop down menu. You should be able to see individuals from your GEDCOM if it has been completely processed. You will need to connect your profile page with the other files, for instance, if your parents are in the GEDCOM file, list yourself as their son. If you are included in the GEDCOM, you'll need to merge your profile page with the GEDCOM profile of yourself.
Thank you, Gerald, for volunteering to help us grow our worldwide family tree by adding your branches. I hope your experience as a member of the WikiTree community will be very pleasant and productive.
