You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.
Wow!!! You have exactly the same idea that I do - family records need to be free! I'm looking forward to reading about your ancestors.
Have fun and ask for help if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist. If you need additional help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.
See you in the branches --

I am 73 years old, retired, and enjoying life, I have been doing Genealogy research for twenty years or more trying to find my roots.I believe everyone should be able to get their family records without having to buy Them. I believe in the Wikitree Mission and and to the best of my ability will abide by the rules set out.

The Help pages give lots of information about the process starting with: 'Before you import a GEDCOM.'
Find instructions here for reviewing your GEDMatch Report if you want to import it into WikiTree.

Thanks for volunteering! You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. We are building one collaborative tree with just one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add profiles to WikiTree. If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add, please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.
If you need any help, check out the Help section from the menu at top right, or visit the G2G forum and take a moment to introduce yourself in the Tree House. You might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.
We have mentors to help, too.
Welcome!
Karen
