Richard Woodson[1] was born about 1695 in Henrico County, Virginia and his parents were Ann (Smith) and Richard Ferris Woodson (Sr).
Richard Woodson (Jr.) married about 1715 in Goochland County, Anne Madelin Michaux, daughter of Abraham Michaux and Susanne Rochette, Huguenots who had settled in Manikin Town in 1701 or 1702. Anne was born in Holland about 1693.
He built Poplar Hill Plantation in Prince Edward County, Farmville, Virginia. It was handed down to his daughter Agnes Woodson and her husband, Francis Watkins. The Poplar Hill Plantation lastly housed the Poplar Hill Golf Club. Now it sits empty & abandoned.[citation needed]
He died about 1774 in Goochland County, Virginia. [citation needed]
Apparently, he was survived only by two daughters, Agnes and Elizabeth.
