Greetings Poland Project member! Thank you for your interest in the Poland Project. We have new information and updates:
  • The Poland Project is a collaborative environment for others to preserve their family history. For the last several months, the Poland Project has been undergoing new organization with new volunteers. We are excited about how the project can enhance Wikitree!
  • We have several different task teams that need volunteers. Please take a look at this page to see which one interests you: Volunteer Tasks. Once you have decided which task team you would like to work on, please reply to this comment.
  • The only requirements for ongoing membership in the Poland Project are that you join a team, work with your Team Leader, respond to the periodic check-ins from the Project Leaders/Coordinators and help the Project satisfy its goals. We recognize that people lead busy lives and are grateful for any and all contributions you can make.
  • Once you have joined a team, please join the Poland Project Google Group to receive project updates and participate in project and team discussions.
  • If we don’t hear from you in the next 45 days, your membership badge will be removed. In this case please don't be offended as you're welcome to rejoin at any time. Please also note, that in order to receive help researching your Polish ancestors, membership is not mandatory. Just ask your questions in the G2G forum and tag them with Poland_Europe or Polska in order for our knowledgeable researchers to see them.

I will venture at this point since both are "of New Jersey" that there is the possibility of a relation. Further research will be required to figure out exactly how. If I find any other information I will gladly send it to you.

Regarding Cornelius Schellinger: I did a little research and what I have found so far is the following: Cornelious Schellengerhoutt in the 1905 New York State Census Birth year: 1868 United States Residence in 1905: Yonkers, Ward 07, E.D. 02, Westchester, New York

Household members: Cornelious (Head, 37); Anna (Wife, 35); John (Son, 15); Cornelious (Son, 10); Catharine (Daughter, 3); Thomas (Son, 1) There is one tree on Ancestry that lists him as Cornelius Woods born Dec 1868 in Paterson, Passaic, New Jersey; death between 1905 and 1908 in Yonkers, Westchester, New York. Gives his wife's name as Anna Theresa Fox and lists them with the following children: John Woods, Mary Woods, Cornelius Schellenerhoutt Woods, Katherine Schellengerhoutt Woods, Thomas Schellengerhoutt. It gives no parents.

Hi Andrew,

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week so I am checking in to see how it is going. The New Member How-Tos are for you to work at your own pace. If you had time to look, were they helpful?

I'm here to help with questions about how WikiTree works. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page. I'll get back to you by the end of the day.

Debi ~ WikiGreeter

PS If you get a "Page Not Found" error when clicking WikiTree email links, you can often find a working version in the public comments on your profile.

PPS Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? You can add more, up to 20 total.
